A young and ambitious New York lawyer, Kate Walker, is assigned a seemingly simple task. A short visit to an Alpine town to broker the sale of a centuries-old vending machine factory, followed by a quick return home to the United States.

She doesn't expect, however, that her life will be turned upside down by taking on this assignment. During her journey across Europe, she will traverse its farthest reaches – from its western borders to eastern Russia. Along the way, she will meet a multitude of colorful characters and see many breathtaking locations. All while searching for a brilliant inventor – Hans – who holds the key to unraveling the mystery of Siberia. An ordinary business visit will turn into a journey of self-discovery, thanks to which she will discover what is truly important in life.
